What To Consider When Buying Kawasaki Ridge Axles

The Kawasaki Ridge doesn't have different axle options. It comes standard with a single axle configuration, specifically a live rear axle. This means the rear wheels are connected by a solid axle, providing good ground clearance and stability for off-road adventures. With this in mind, you should decide on the type of axle you want to change the setup.

What Type Of Axle Do You Want?

The stock Kawasaki Ridge axles work well enough for a recreational trail, but it'll reach breaking point faster with hardcore riding. But your Kawasaki Ridge was made for precisely aggressive riding, so you'll need an upgrade if you want to ride aggressively. If conquering jagged rocks is your thing, flexible high-articulation axles will enable better wheel movement. If you prefer high-speed desert running, then high-clearance axles are your best. They allow you to run larger-diameter tires safely. Thankfully, we have both options in no short supply.

Traction and Performance

You will probably be riding your Ridge on rough terrains, so you'll need your axles to have sufficient traction for the long, rough rides ahead. This is why you must check if the axles have features like heat-treated splines. This is precisely what your Ridge needs to push maximum power to the wheels for improved handling, cornering, and acceleration on rough trails.

Construction Quality

For extreme-duty axles, opt for ultra-strong chromoly steel axles over aluminum options. The chromoly maintains higher shape consistency, which is essential for reliability. While aluminum is lighter, it may not handle rough rides very well.

Sealing Solutions

A leak in your Ridge's axle can cut your ride day short, so you must get a properly sealed axle. Look for axles that integrate heavy-duty protective boots, seals, and retainers to prepare them for hardcore usage. Our high-quality solutions protect against mud, grit, and debris while keeping lubrication contained and contamination out.

Maintenance

You should not overlook ease of maintenance while searching for axles for your Kawasaki Ridge. Also, go for axles with conveniently placed and removable grease fittings and CV joints. This will allow you to carry out easy and regular lubrication for a problem-free riding experience.

Strength Specifications

When checking out aftermarket axle components, verify if the strength ratings exceed or match that of stock parts. A weak link anywhere in the system places the entire axle integrity at risk of failure when riding hard.
